Music Magazin (June) and driver license written test

I arrived LAX safely a few minutes ago.

On the flight to LAX, I read Music Magazine (June). I don't buy any magazine usually, but this issue has articles about Bob Dylan's DVD, "Don't Look Back" deluxe edition, which Japanese version was released recently. So I bought the magazine. I already have DVD. Most of the articles are very disappointed because they have nothing new to me, except the interview with D.A. Pennebaker, Director of the movie.

I also studied driver license written test. I have to get California driver license very soon.

BOB DYLAN ON XM RADIO

I got Pioneer's Portable Satellite Radio, inno™. I've been listening to channel 40, Deep Tracks, which is a classic rock channel. 10am ET, Wednesday, Bob Dylan hosts the channel for 1 hour. Wow, his DJ is unbelievably wonderful. It seems he reads a poem aloud with expression. I recorded it, of course.

Dylan Hears A Who!

I didn't know Dr.Seuss. I didn't know Bob Dylan recorded Dr.Seuss's lyrics. But here it is. Dylan Hears A Who!. I don't know how's their copyrights, but this record is a surprise. Of course this is not a official album of Dylan, not a real Dylan (Are you sure?). But sound and Dylan is like in mid 60s. Wow! What is this?

Heart of Mine: Love Songs of Bob Dylan

Maria Muldaur was born and raised in Greenwich Village. She appeared in my favorite book about Dylan "Down the Highway: The Life of Bob Dylan". I didn't know exactly about where thier ways came across. But I know now. We can also see her in Dylan's "No Direction Home". She wrote in liner notes of her new album "Heart of Mine: Love Songs of Bob Dylan", "Bob's song were different. Very Different. With great poetic skill and prophetic vision he brought a deep, fervent, compassionate, and amazingly perceptive overview to the many social issues he addresses". She fell in love with a song called "Moonlight" in Bob's "Love and Theft" and she wanted to record it. It takes some time for recording but finally it released. There are hundreds of covers of Dylan's songs recorded by various musicians like Byrds, PPM long time ago. I am surprised again that Dylan's songs are so beautiful when somebody else sings them. People may easily misunderstand Dylan's songs due to his throaty voice, but I believe his love songs themselves are so lovely and have eternity.

Dylan tops worldwide charts with new album - Music - MSNBC.com

Dylan tops worldwide charts with new album - Music - MSNBC.com
I went to Bob Dylan's concert at Compaq Center in San Jose, California (HP Pavilion now) at October 12, 2001. At that time I found that he actually became old, to be honest. But now he still records the album and performs live. He is now 65!

Modern Times by Bob Dylan, etc.

On Tuesday I had a drink with my friend, who was going to quit his job soon, at Beer restaurant in Kawaguchi, Saitama. We always talk about music. When I came home I found an airmail from Amazon USA. Yes, I received "Modern Times(Deluxe Edition With Bonus DVD)" by Bob Dylan, A Jonathan Demme Picture "Neil Young - Heart Of Gold". Dylan's DVD is region free but Neil's is Region 1, so I have to play on my region free DVD player for Neil's. I didn't have enough time to see all DVD yesterday but taking a look at Neil's Heart of Gold, it is great live! Further more, my friend gave me a bootleg of Linda Ronstadt's "Live at Copa Room Sands Casino, Atlantic City 1984 with Nelson Riddle Orchestra" and her new album , "Adieu False Heart". I got 3 CDs and 2 DVDs yesterday. Oh, I forgot to tell you that last week I also got a DVD of The Rolling Stones' A Bigger Bang Tour in Japan at Saitama Super Arena on April 2, 2006, which my friend in Sapporo, Hokkaido gave me. Thanks a lot!
